Question
I have a 3.5 year old girl. Usually whatever I tell her to do like clean up your toys please. She asks what will you do if I dont ? then she weighs her choices. Or i tell her tim eto brush your teeth she asks what will happen if I dont then I say you'll get ugly dirty teeth with cavities then she says I want my teeth to look dirty and ugly. Today she was watching sesame street and she saw oscar the grouch in the trash then she says I want to go in the trash like oscar , I said well it stinks in the trash and its dirty then she said I want to stink and be dirty like oscar. when she gets me angry I say your going to get time out and she says I want time out and shell just go and sit in her time out and cry forever but when I go back to her and say you did ...(...) wrong she says I want to do it again and I will , I wil , I will and i say well stay in time out she'll go on forever. Im lost what do i do ? Ive tried taking away her toy, time outs in the room no fun for the day. no tv . what do i do ? im a single mom and she has no sisters or brothers or anyone but me in the house . what do i do ?
